#OsunDecides2026: Keyamo congratulates Adeleke, says ‘agreement is agreement’

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election, describing the victory as historic.

Keyamo, in two separate posts on X on Sunday, joined the growing stream of congratulatory messages to Adeleke following his victory in the Osun governorship election.

The minister also acknowledged Adeleke’s public endorsement of President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term in office in 2027, stressing the importance of keeping political agreements.

He said, “Huge congratulations to Governor Ademola Adeleke on his historic victory in the governorship election in Osun State.

“Thank you, Governor Ademola Adeleke, for the public and unequivocal endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT for the 2027 Presidential Election. You are a man of integrity and honour. ‘Agreement is agreement.”

The Independent National Electoral Commission had earlier declared Adeleke the winner of the election held on Saturday.

The State Returning Officer, Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Prof Joshua Ogunwole, announced the result at about 7:24 am on Sunday.

Adeleke, the candidate of the ACCORD party, polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, who scored 444,815 votes.

Declaring the result, Ogunwole said: “Accredited voters, 1010684, total votes received by political parties, A, 511067, AA, 2308, AAC, 1458, ADC, 17180, ADP, 2946, APC, 444815, APGA, 1475, APM, 234, APP, 114, BP, 111, NNPP, 118, PRP, 83, SDP, 155, YPP, 534, ZLP, 2482, total valid votes, 985079, rejected votes, 207, total vote cast, 1,005,800.”

Keyamo’s congratulatory message comes against the backdrop of Adeleke’s earlier public support for Tinubu’s 2027 presidential ambition, with the minister emphasising that the understanding between the two political figures should be honoured.
