…Movement’s vehicle fleet rises to 77 after earlier unveiling of 52 in Ondo, Gombe

The Grand Patron of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo; the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda; and Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, have rallied support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, unveiling 25 vehicles to strengthen grassroots mobilisation in the state.

The vehicles were unveiled on Wednesday in Jos, the Plateau State capital, during the inauguration of the movement’s state and Local Government structures and the distribution of campaign materials ahead of the 2027 general election.

The latest unveiling brings the number of vehicles deployed by the movement in its ongoing mobilisation drive to 77, following the earlier unveiling of 52 vehicles in Ondo and Gombe states, where 26 vehicles were deployed to each state.

The vehicles are intended to support the movement’s door-to-door campaign strategy, which involves reaching voters in communities, markets, religious centres and other grassroots locations to canvass support for Tinubu’s re-election.

Speaking through the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Limited, Dr Kestin Pondi, Tompolo urged the people of Plateau to take the lead in mobilising support for the President, arguing that the administration’s reforms required time to deliver their expected benefits.

He described Tinubu as a courageous leader and reformer who had taken difficult decisions to reposition the country, adding that the impact of the policies would become more evident with time.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a courageous man, a lover of country and a reformer. He is reforming the country and reforms, as we all know, take time.

“It is a gradual process and, with time, it will trickle down to all our countrymen and women.

“Today, governors are paying salaries and on time, projects are being executed by governors, and more investors are coming into our country, unlike before when no investments were coming in,” Pondi said, quoting Tompolo.

He likened the administration’s reforms to planting a seed, which requires patience before producing fruits, and urged Nigerians to remain supportive of the President.

“Our Grand Patron has asked me to appeal to you to be patient and support the re-election of our President in 2027,” he said.

Pondi identified the proposed establishment of state police as one of the developments associated with the administration’s reform agenda, saying the initiative would strengthen security across the country.

He also urged the newly inaugurated coordinators to intensify grassroots mobilisation by visiting homes, markets and mosques to communicate the administration’s achievements and secure support for another term.

Speaking at the event, Yilwatda said Plateau residents had sufficient reasons to support Tinubu in 2027, citing what he described as the President’s commitment to addressing insecurity and promoting infrastructure development in the state.

“Re-elect the President, the governor and all others on the ticket of the APC. Mr President is a friend of the Plateau. No president has stood with us as President Tinubu,” he said.

The APC Chairman said the Federal Government had deployed personnel of the Department of State Services (DSS) to Bokkos, Riyom and other areas affected by insecurity, while plans were underway to deploy additional military formations and personnel.

He also disclosed that Plateau was among nine states expected to benefit from the first phase of the forest guards initiative, which he said would involve recruiting personnel from local communities.

On the proposed state police framework, Yilwatda expressed optimism that the initiative would enable communities to play a more direct role in tackling insecurity.

The APC chairman further cited ongoing road projects as evidence of the Federal Government’s commitment to Plateau, including the dualisation of the Akwanga-Jos Road and proposed road development linking Mararaba, Jerma and Shendam through Pankshin.

He urged residents to support Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections, saying his position as national chairman would help advance the interests of the state.

In his remarks, Mutfwang commended Tompolo for supporting the President’s re-election bid and called for a return to the door-to-door mobilisation strategy adopted during the 2023 presidential election.

The governor said he had decided in June 2023 to support Tinubu, whom he described as a leader committed to moving Nigeria forward.

“I made up my mind since June 2023 to travel with the President as a man who is leading Nigeria forward. The enemies of Nigeria will not win. The President is committed to our security and across the country,” he said.

Mutfwang also defended the administration’s economic policies, expressing optimism that their benefits would become more evident if sustained.

“The project of improving the economy is on the right track. If we keep pursuing these policies, we will eat the good of the land. We will not change our driver now. The driver you know is better; let’s stick with him,” the governor said.

He also urged Nigerians to maintain the existing power-sharing arrangement between the North and South, describing continued support for Tinubu as a matter of keeping faith with the political understanding.

The governor expressed confidence that Plateau would deliver substantial votes for the President in 2027, adding that the state would benefit from having its son lead the APC.

Earlier, the National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Comrade Sunday Asuku, said the inauguration of the Plateau structures was part of the organisation’s nationwide mobilisation effort to secure Tinubu’s re-election.

He urged the people to reject what he described as empty promises by opposition parties, insisting that continuity would allow the administration to consolidate its reforms.

“Do not let the opposition deceive you with empty promises. When they come, tell them, ‘No vacancy at the Presidency and in the governorship.’ A vote for continuity is to do more in sustaining the reforms. Follow a reformer, follow a performer,” Asuku said.

The event was attended by members of the National Assembly, the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, the state APC chairman, party elders, women and youth groups, among other political stakeholders.
