NAFDAC seals Lagos Trade Fair shops over unregistered cosmetics

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has sealed several shops and business premises at the Trade Fair Complex in Ojo, Lagos State, over suspected dealings in unregistered cosmetic products.

NAFDAC disclosed the enforcement action in a statement shared on its X account on Saturday, August 29, 2026.

The agency said its Investigation and Enforcement Directorate, Cosmetics Division, carried out a two-day enforcement operation at the complex on August 26 and 27 as part of efforts to remove specified unregistered cosmetic products from circulation.

According to NAFDAC, the operation covered several shops and business premises where suspected unregistered cosmetics were identified.

“The affected premises were locked and placed under NAFDAC HOLD labels pending further regulatory action,” the agency said.

NAFDAC also disclosed that samples of the suspected unregistered products were collected for further investigation.

It added that invitation letters were issued to the owners and operators of the affected businesses for interrogation and necessary regulatory proceedings.

Among the premises affected are Vincentmo World, opposite Bmeck Plaza, Private Plaza; Amazon City of Fragrance, Shops 37 and 38, Beauty Promise Land Plaza; and Aza-King Store Perfumes, opposite Fidelity Bank.

Others include PP2 & Fragrance Int’l Ltd. – Design Perfumes & Cosmetics; No. D12 Fragrance Doctor Shop, Abia Plaza; and God & Obaino Fragrance Store, opposite Wave Plaza.

NAFDAC said other shops and business premises within the Trade Fair Complex were also affected by the enforcement operation.

The Trade Fair Complex, located along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, is a major commercial hub where traders deal in a wide range of consumer goods, including cosmetics, fragrances and imported products.

The agency’s latest action forms part of its regulatory efforts to ensure that cosmetic products circulating in the Nigerian market meet required safety and registration standards.
