Date:

The Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) has unveiled a 16-man squad for the upcoming Namibia Tour Tri-Series as the YellowGreens continue preparations for future international competitions.

The team, led by captain Sulaimon Runsewe, will compete against hosts Namibia and Hong Kong China in both T20 and 50-over formats during the tour.

According to the federation, the series forms part of efforts to strengthen the national team and provide players with valuable international exposure against quality opposition.

A major talking point from the squad announcement is the return of Chima Akachukwu and Miracle Akhigbe, who have both been recalled to the national team setup after periods away from the side.

The duo will be hoping to make a strong impression as Nigeria seeks positive results against two experienced cricket nations.

The technical crew will be headed by coaches Leke Oyede and Tamuno John during the opening phase of the tour, while newly appointed Head Coach and High Performance Manager Stephen Magongo is expected to join the team later in Namibia.

The coaching staff will also be supported by Team Analyst Jamal Okechukwu, Strength and Conditioning Coach Seye Olympio and Team Physiotherapist Timothy Adesomowo.

The federation believes the tour will provide an important opportunity to assess player development, test team combinations, and fine-tune strategies in both formats of the game.
