AIK Invite Nigerian Youngster To Train With First Team

Date:

Swedish top-flight club AIK have invited promising Nigerian winger Emmanuel Oluwafemi Olawore to train with their senior squad this week as they assess him ahead of a potential transfer.

Olawore, 19, is currently contracted to fellow Swedish club Umeå FC, where he has impressed since joining earlier this year.

Confirming the development, AIK announced on their official website:

“AIK Football has invited Umeå FC’s 19-year-old winger Emmanuel Oluwafemi Olawore to train with the men’s team at Karlberg during week 29.”

The talented winger moved to Sweden in February 2026 after successfully completing a trial with Umeå FC, where he signed his first professional contract.

Since arriving at the club, Olawore has enjoyed a promising debut campaign, scoring three goals and providing one assist in 14 league appearances.

The training stint with AIK presents the youngster with an opportunity to impress the club’s coaching staff and potentially earn a move to one of Sweden’s biggest sides.

AIK’s interest in Olawore comes as the Stockholm-based club look to strengthen their attacking options following the departure of fellow Nigerian Zadok Yohanna, who recently completed a club-record transfer to Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion after an outstanding start to the season.

The club now appear eager to replicate that success by investing in another highly-rated Nigerian prospect, with Olawore emerging as a leading candidate to fill the void left by Yohanna.
