Following the declaration of Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party as the winner of the Osun State governorship election, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has send a subtle message to President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress.
According to the main opposition party, Adeleke’s victory is a strong message ahead of the 2027 general elections, accusing the ruling APC of deploying what it described as its “Rigging machinery” in an attempt to win the state.
Speaking on Sunday in a press statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, the party alleged that opposition politicians were subjected to intimidation, assault and arrests during the election period.

This is as the party also accused security agencies of failing to maintain neutrality during the conduct of the election, and alleged that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) freezing of the state government’s accounts and delays in the uploading of results by INEC raised concerns about the election.
The PDP urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and protect their votes ahead of the 2027 election.
“The result of the Osun Governorship elections, as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, showing a convincing win by Governor Ademola Adeleke, is a clear message from Nigerians in Osun State about what the 2027 elections will be.
“Election results must be reflective of the wishes of the people freely expressed through the ballot and not the enforcement of the whims and caprices of a privileged minority of oppressors,” the party said.
