Done Deal: Former Flying Eagles Striker Joins Hungarian Club Újpest FC

Nigerian striker Muhammed Tijani has joined Hungarian club Újpest FC on a permanent transfer, Completesports.com reports.

Tijani linked up with Újpest FC from Czech First Division club Slavia Prague.

The 25-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Hungarian club Nyíregyháza Spartacus where he had a successful spell.

The forward scored eight goals, and registered three assists in 15 league appearances for Nyíregyháza Spartacus.

Újpest FC Excited With Forward’s Capture

Újpest FC sports director Pál Dárdai is excited with Tijani’s arrival at the club.

“Tijani is a quality player who is a real reinforcement in the attacking line, where based on his abilities he solves problems that have been a serious problem until now,” Dárdai told the club’s official website.

“His speed, physique and intensity of play will fundamentally contribute to our game becoming faster and more agile next season. I am happy that he has arrived and can immediately get involved in the work.”

Tijani Ready For New Journey

Tijani is looking forward to a successful stay at the club.

“I am very happy to be a player for Újpest. I know the league, I know the traditions and ambitions of the club I have joined,” stated the former Flying Eagles star.

” I have high expectations for myself and the team, so I will work hard every day to achieve our goals together and bring a lot of joy to the fans,” added our latest signing, Muhamed Tijani.

Move To Europe

Tijani started his professional career with Czech side Banik Ostrava, in 2019 before moving to Slavia Prague four years later.

The forward played in 33 games for the nine-time Czech champions, scoring seven goals, but in recent seasons he has also spent time on loan at English third-tier Plymouth and Czech top-flight Sigma Olomouc.

He was part of the Flying Eagles side that competed in the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup hosted by Poland.
